Isuzu has added three X-Rider Limited Edition specifications to its D-Max bakkie range, with these models limited to 210 units – each marked with a unique plaque in the engine bay.
The X-Rider trim was first introduced in 2016 and became a mainstay in the D-Max range both in South Africa and the rest of Africa due to its popularity, said Isuzu.
The new X-Rider Limited Edition now provides a more differentiated look, and is available with two engine and three transmission options.
X-Rider Limited Edition specs
The D-Max X-Rider Limited Edition models are set apart from their siblings through exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels, black roof rails, a model-specific Sports Hoop and roller shutter in the load box, and Limited Edition-branded decals and carpets.
“We believe this is the best iteration of the D-Max bakkie to date in terms of value, build quality, and appeal,” said Craig Uren, senior vice president of Isuzu sales and marketing.
“The X-Rider Limited Edition is a vehicle that true Isuzu fans will be proud to own and keep as part of their garage.”
The engines for the D-Max X-Rider Limited Editions are based on those of the standard X-Rider, comprising only turbo-diesel options.
The “250” versions are powered by a 2.5-litre engine producing 100kW and 320Nm.
This setup is paired to the customer’s choice between a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission.
The “300” models are then fitted with a 3.0-litre motor putting out 130kW and 380Nm, and is only available with a six-speed automatic gearbox.
All D-Max X-Rider Limited Editions drives the rear wheels only.
