New Nissan Qashqai in South Africa – Pricing and features

Nissan has revealed the South African pricing and features for the third-generation Qashqai, the crossover now starting at R568,200.

The new Qashqai brings a revised design, all-new tech, and soon, also a hybrid powertrain option, and it can be had in Visia, Acenta, and Acenta Plus specification grades.

Features

The new entry-level Qashqai Visia receives an 8-inch NissanConnect infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED headlights, keyless start, fabric seats, cruise control, a tyre-pressure monitor, and a multifunction steering wheel.

In the mid-range Acenta, buyers get a larger 12.3-inch infotainment unit, a 7-inch instrument cluster, comfort access, on-board navigation, roof rails, 18-inch wheels, and a driver assistance suite comprising dynamic LED headlights, blind-spot monitoring, moving object detection, a 360-degree camera system, lane-departure warnings, predictive emergency braking, intelligent cruise control, and driver attention alert.

The top-end Acenta Plus further improves on the mid-range model with full Nappa Leather upholstery, heated and massaging seats with memory functions, a model-exclusive blue and black exterior, heated and tilting reverse mirrors, and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Engine

The entire new Qashqai line-up is equipped with a 1.3-litre, turbo-petrol motor turning the front wheels. Nissan South Africa said at the moment, no all-wheel-drive variants are planned for a local debut.

The entry-level Visia specification produces 96kW and 240Nm and is also the only model on offer with a six-speed manual gearbox.

The rest of the range puts out a higher 110kW and 250Nm and makes do with a CVT gearbox, achieving a combined consumption of 6.1l/100km.

The e-Power range-extender hybrid powertrain will then be introduced to the Qashqai in “early 2023,” said Nissan South Africa.

Price

The pricing and model line-up for the new Nissan Qashqai are as follows:

  • Nissan Qashqai Visia – R568,200
  • Nissan Qashqai Acenta Monotone – R639,300
  • Nissan Qashqai Acenta Two-Tone – R644,800
  • Nissan Qashqai Acenta Plus – R670,600

The vehicle will be available in local dealers from “later this month,” said Nissan South Africa.
