New Mahindra XUV700 pre-orders opening soon – First customers get a reward

Bookings for the new Mahindra XUV700 are set to open across all dealerships countrywide next week Tuesday, 15 November.
A special pre-ordering process has been created to ensure that the first 700 South African customers who pre-order an XUV700 online will receive a “special gift,” said Mahindra South Africa CEO Rajesh Gupta.
Customers can log on to the new ordering system from 11h00 in the morning on the day to enter their details and place their order on any of the available XUV700 specifications.
“This will generate a unique code that secures their place in the queue,” said Gupta.
These individuals must then visit a Mahindra dealership with the code in hand to place a fully-refundable R5,000 deposit thereby finalising their order.
Doing so will also qualify the first 700 patrons to receive one of the following two rewards:
- Option one – Warranty and service plan extension from five to seven years
- Option two – R3,000 fuel voucher and installation of a tow bar and side steps
“The pre-order process will remain open until 17h00 on 30 November 2022, but only the first 700 confirmed pre-orders qualify for the special offer,” said Gupta.
More details regarding the South African pricing, specifications, and launch date of the new XUV700 will be announced closer to the time.
What to expect
The new XUV700, which is the first model to ship with the brand’s new “Twin Peaks” badge, will be replacing the long-standing XUV500 and will be available with a total of three models for its launch in South Africa.
However, it has not yet been confirmed which trims these will be, as the Indian market has access to four – MX, AX3, AX5, and AX7.
More information was also revealed concerning the powertrains, as it was confirmed that all three specifications would be fitted with a new 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 149kW and 380Nm.
Initially, the Mahindra will only be available with a six-speed automatic gearbox, though a manual has not yet been ruled out, said the carmaker.
It will also have a permanent all-wheel-drive system and ground clearance of 200mm for tackling the unbeaten path.
In terms of features, Mahindra has not yet confirmed the complete South African specifications for its XUV700.
Thus far, we know it will be available with all-round LED lights and daytime running lights, 18-inch alloys, a new dual-screen operating unit consisting of a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and media screen, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Depending on the model, other features on the new SUV comprise climate control, a wireless phone charger, a panoramic sunroof, electric front seats, keyless start and entry, a 12-speaker Sony stereo, driver attention monitoring, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring.
