With 49,413 new vehicles finding owners in the country last month, the car market showed resilience in the face of adverse conditions.
Toyota took the top entry on the country’s sales charts, with not one, not two, not three, but seven of its vehicles being featured in the 20 best sellers.
Even more impressive, Toyota’s Hilux was the only car in the country that managed to move more than 3,000 units, whereas the Corolla Cross was the only one that surpassed 2,000 units.
As always, VW was another desired option, with three models making their way onto the ranks. After falling out of last month’s top ten for what seemed like the first time ever, the Polo is back to single-digit placements now occupying the seventh spot, a mere 17 units behind its namesake, the Polo Vivo.
The only other manufacturer who then managed to secure more than one placement in the top 20 was Nissan, with the NP200 in 11th and Magnite in 15th.
The ever-popular Ford Ranger, good-looking Isuzu D-Max, and rugged Mahindra Pik Up can be found on the list, too, as well as the sleek Suzuki Swift, compact Renault Kwid, quirky Hyundai Grand i10.
