Aston Martin has revealed the DBS 770 Ultimate, the final current-generation DBS and most powerful production-run supercar the manufacturer has ever built.
The Ultimate has undergone extensive design and engineering enhancements and will be produced in a highly-limited selection of 300 coupes and 199 volantes, totaling 499 units.
Production for the new Aston is kicking off in the next few weeks, with the first customer deliveries to take place in the third quarter of 2023.
Twin-turbo V12
With a twin-turbo V12 heart the DBS 770 generates a mountain-shifting 566kW and 900Nm, an increase of 32kW over the standard model, the enhanced potential being a result of precise tuning of power and torque curves and modified air and ignition pathways, together with a 7% increase in maximum turbo boost pressure.
Via an eight-speed automatic gearbox with model-specific calibration the drivetrain channels power to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential, and up to 410mm carbon-ceramic brakes are fitted for the stopping power to match the immense acceleration abilities.
To that end, the 770 is capable of obliterating the 0-100km/h sprint in 3.2 seconds – compared to 3.4 seconds in the standard model – and it will continue to a top speed of 340km/h if nothing gets in its way.
Further improving the new grand tourer’s agility is the introduction of a solid-mounted steering column that provides more feedback through the steering wheel, as well as a 25%-stiffer front end which is a byproduct of a new front cross member and thicker rear undertray.
Upgrades have also been made to the adaptive damping system through unique damper calibration and software tuning “focusing on control and composure without compromise to ride quality,” said the carmaker.
Enhanced looks
The DBS 770 is the pinnacle of the Aston Martin brand and it has been given the looks to play the part.
The bonnet features a pronounced horse-shoe engine vent, and a new front splitter integrates two new outboard vents which improve cooling to the radiator grille.
The rear is endowed with a model-specific diffuser that “maintains aerodynamic balance” and the multi-spoke 21-inch wheels, inspired by those of the Valkyrie and Victor hypercars, are shod with Pirelli P Zero high-performance tyres.
More design tweaks include Ultimate-exclusive badging and plaques, as well as carbon fibre cant rails, windscreen surrounds, mirror caps, fender louvres, and side sills.
Opening the door, the 770 greets owners with Sports Plus Seats in full semi-aniline leather and Alcantara, featuring a “fluted” quilt and perforation pattern as standard.
Carbon fibre gearshift paddles are also equipped, alongside a bespoke trim with contrasting colours and a tailor-made strap and buckle on the centre armrest.
As with all Astons, the new DBS can be extensively customised by buyers through the Q department, offering liveries with assorted graphics options, painted wheels to match body or graphic colours, tinted carbon fibre and woven leather seat inserts, and a carbon fibre steering wheel.
