Suzuki Swift going on auction this Black Friday – Starting at R1 with no reserve

Black Friday is nearly upon us with many major retailers announcing exciting offers to lure customers to their stores.
One of these is the Bob Shop e-commerce platform, which recently confirmed to MyBroadband that it will be auctioning off a brand-new Suzuki Swift on 24 November, with bidding kicking off at R1 and no reserve in place.
Not only that, from 13 November onwards, consumers feeling lucky can guess the winning bid for the Swift to stand a chance of winning R50,000 if they are the closest to the final amount.
“The total prize pot is actually R100,000 because if users refer friends to participate in the ‘Guess and Win’ competition and one of the people they’ve referred makes the guess closest to the winning bid, the original referrer also wins R50,000,” said Craig Lubbe, head of marketplace at Bob Shop.
According to the Bob Shop website, the Swift auction will only run for one hour, from 12h00 until 13h00 on the last Friday in November.
The sale includes all license and registration fees, as well as a full tank of petrol, and the successful buyer will be introduced to an appropriate Suzuki dealer to conclude the sale.
The buyer will then have seven days to finalise the purchase by making payment in full or arranging finance through the dealer.
Swift GLX specs
The exact Swift that will cross the Bob Shop auction blocks this Black Friday is the manual GLX model in white with a contrasting black roof, which retails new from R247,900.
The GLX is the top-end trim in the Swift line-up, offering nice-to-haves such as keyless entry and start, climate control, a leather steering wheel, a 7-inch central touchscreen with Bluetooth, a reverse camera paired with rear parking sensors, and 15-inch alloy wheels.
Powering the hatchback is a 1.2-litre petrol motor generating 61kW and 113Nm, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox for a combined fuel usage of 4.9l/100km.
