The most popular option for South African car buyers in November was the Toyota Hilux as the bakkie pulled in a total of 3,073 sales, noticeably more than any other new vehicle on the market.

The runner-up Ford Ranger saw significantly fewer transactions at a total of 2,234; as did third place, the evergreen VW Polo Vivo which gained 1,913 new owners.

In 11th was the Nissan Magnite with a tally of 997 models sold, followed by the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro and its 986 transactions.

The Vivo’s bigger brother, the iconic VW Polo, remained as popular as ever recording 930 sales which lent it the 13th position in November’s ranks, and two more Toyotas accounted for 14th and 15th, these being the Vitz and Fortuner which moved 855 and 689 units, respectively.

Positions 16 to 20 were then occupied by the Kia Sonet at 675 sales, Haval H6 at 654, Mahindra Pik Up at 606, Renault Kwid at 589, and Toyota Corolla Quest at 582.

Put together, the top 20 best-selling cars were responsible for 24,207 sales, approximately 56% of the 45,075 new vehicles sold within our borders in November.
