GWM has announced the pricing for the new Haval H7, adding a new option to South Africa’s popular Adventure SUV market.
The original H7 debuted in January 2025 and is currently sold in three “Black Edition” specifications ranging from R604,950 to R734,950.
In contrast, the new version is available in six specifications with one of three powertrains, including a petrol, traditional hybrid (HEV), and plug-in hybrid (PHEV).
Prices for the new Haval range from R554,900 to R794,900, meaning its starting price has been reduced by R50,050.
New engine selection
Starting things off is a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine (the same one used in the outgoing model), which produces 170kW and 380Nm.
This is linked to a nine-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, which sends power to either the front or all four wheels, depending on the model.
Next up is the HEV, which pairs a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with an electric motor and a small 1.53kWh battery.
The end result is a combined output of 182kW and 540Nm. The HEV is only available in front-wheel-drive and uses a dedicated hybrid transmission.
Last but certainly not least is the new PHEV, which also sports a 1.5-litre turbo mill, along with one or two electric motors and a much larger battery.
There are two versions, with the single-motor front-wheel-drive option achieving an output of 240kW and 540Nm, while the dual-motor 4×4 goes all the way to 320kW and 670Nm.
This lets it sprint from 0-100km/h in 4.9 seconds, while the PHEV system affords an electric driving range of 115km.

The South African pricing for the new Haval H7 is as follows:

- Haval H7 1.5T HEV Super Luxury 4×2 9DCT – R624,900

- Haval H7 1.5T PHEV Super Luxury 4×2 9DCT – R734,900
- Haval H7 1.5T PHEV Super Luxury 4×4 9DCT – R794,900
This includes a 7-year/200,000km warranty, a 7-year/75,000km service plan, and 7-year/unlimited-kilometre roadside assistance.
The hybrid units also benefit from an 8-year/150,000km battery warranty.
