South African motorists will get significantly fewer litres of petrol and diesel in their tanks when spending R500 this January, when compared to January 2021.
This is thanks to rising fuel prices in the country, which saw petrol breach R20.00 per litre in December.
Despite a drop in prices for January, drivers will still get a lot less for their money when at the pumps.
How much you get for R500
To provide an overview of how much more you are paying for petrol at the start of this year when compared to previous periods, we looked at inland prices for Petrol 95 and Diesel 50PPM.
Pricing for both fuel types was taken in January of the following years: 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.
This pricing was then used to determine how many litres of fuel you receive for R500.
Pricing was taken from the AA website.
