Maserati MC Edition range launched in South Africa – Details

Maserati has launched the special-series MC Edition design package for its most powerful Ghibli, Levante, and Quattroporte models in South Africa.

The focus of the MC Edition models “is on the versions equipped with a V8 engine to highlight the concept of uncompromising driving pleasure,” said Maserati.

What you get

The new Maserati MC Edition models will only be available in two exclusive colours – Giallo Corse and Blu Vittoria.

Giallo Corse is a three-layer yellow paint “with blue mica interfering with the light in a highly sophisticated manner” – creating a sporty look.

Blu Vittoria is a matte, three-layer blue paint that is “extremely deep, impactful, new, and contemporary.”

“Yellow and blue are the colours of Modena, the city that symbolises the Motor Valley and is the home of Maserati.”

Standard features for the special edition series includes piano black exterior finishes with a specific badge on the rear fender and B-pillar.

Additionally, the Levante MC Edition has 22-inch wheels, whereas the Ghibli and Quattroporte wear 21-inch alloys. The gloss black finish of the rims and blue brake callipers complete the athletic look.

Inside the cabin, the special series sees an electronic sunroof, Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system, the driver assistance package, blue carbon fibre finishes, yellow and blue stitching, MC Edition logos, and Nero Pienofiore black leather seats with denim accents.

Pricing

“Prices for South African MC models have not been determined yet. It will be more expensive than the standard V8 model (Trofeo) on which it is based,” Maserati South Africa told TopAuto.

The V8 Trofeo models start at R2,980,000 for the Ghibli Trofeo, R3,949,000 for the Levante Trofeo, and R4,076,000 for the Quattroporte Trofeo.

“[The MC Edition] is a bespoke model, so it will be made available on order. South African customers can order a model immediately,” said Maserati South Africa.
