Exclusive Ford GT revealed – A special edition for a special occasion

Ford has revealed the GT Holman Moody Heritage Edition, which pays tribute to the GT40 MK II race car that secured Ford’s 1-2-3 sweep at the 1966 Le Mans.

“Inspired by one of the most well-known Ford GT40 race cars, this latest Ford GT honours the Holman Moody race team’s know-how and ability to out-innovate global competitors,” said Ford.

“Of all the Ford GT Heritage Edition liveries we’ve done, the Holman Moody Heritage Edition’s can’t-miss signature gold and red theme is an epic tribute to our 1966 Le Mans finish.”

The Holman Moody Heritage Edition is available exclusively to approved Ford GT customers, with the first deliveries expected to take place in the third quarter of this year.

The special Ford was unveiled at the 2022 New York auto show side-by-side with its predecessor, the podium-placing Holman Moody GT40 MK II, chassis no. P/1016.

What’s new

The new Ford GT Holman Moody Heritage Edition features a bespoke gold and red livery with Oxford White roundels on the sides.

The number 5 is stamped on the doors, hood, and rear wing to mimic the locations of the original Le Mans winner, and the Brembo brake calipers are lacquered in black with silver graphics.

More touches of exposed carbon fibre are included on the exterior, too, such as on the 20-inch wheels, front splitter, side sills, mirrors, engine louvers, and rear diffuser.

The carbon enhancements continue inside the cabin, appearing on the door sills, centre console, registers, and seats.

Additionally, the GT comes with gold accent stitching, embossed seating surfaces, a debossed GT logo in the headrests, Alcantara upholstery, shifter paddles in Holman Moody gold, and matte “5” branding on the door panels.

Optionally, the instrument panel can also be had with standard Ebony leather.

Ford GT Heritage Edition series

The introduction of the newest GT Holman Moody Heritage Edition brings the heritage series to a total of nine models, with two still in production, said Ford.
