For those looking for something larger than your typical crossover, there are a number of SUVs on the market for less than R500,000.
This includes the new Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, which went on sale in South Africa earlier this month, as well as Chery’s larger seven-seater offering – the Tiggo 8 Pro.
A second Chinese manufacturer, Haval, has its own mid-range SUV in the form of the H6, too.
Mahindra, an increasingly popular brand in the local car scene, also has two SUVs available within this price range – the Scorpio and XUV500.
Not to be left out, Kia offers the Sportage – a more affordable alternative to the brand’s larger SUV, the Sorento.
Finally, The Nissan X-Trail, Mazda CX-5, Renault Koleos, and Subaru Forester all make the cut, allowing for an interesting comparison of SUVs priced between R490,000-R500,000.
