What this month’s petrol price drops will look like when you refuel

South African drivers can expect to save anywhere from R28 to over R100 on fuel this month thanks to the recent price reductions.

Last week saw a big relief for local motorists as the cost of petrol came down by as much as R2.04 per litre.

Unfortunately, the price reduction was much less dramatic for diesel, which only saw a decrease of 46 cents and 56 cents per litre for Diesel 50ppm and 500ppm, respectively.

What you’ll be saving

We looked to see what this month’s price reductions would translate to on a trip to the pump for the average consumer.

To illustrate the change in spending, we used a popular model from various body types including a sedan, crossover, hatchback, bakkie and SUV, and compared the cost of filling a tank in August versus September.
