New cars launching in South Africa in the first quarter of 2024

South Africa may have received a ton of new cars in 2023, but it appears as if 2024 is going to be an even wilder ride.

Nearly every car brand with a presence on the tip of Africa has at least one model planned for a local introduction next year, and there’s even one new manufacturer that’s scheduled to make its debut on our soil very soon in the form of Jaecoo, a luxury Chinese automaker that falls under the Chery umbrella.

There are at least 10 different vehicles that have been confirmed for a launch within the first quarter of the new year, mostly in the shape of an SUV in line with the growing global and domestic demand for the body type.

There’s also at least one performance car to look forward to, an all-electric crossover, and two vans for those in need of a practical set of wheels.

Many more vehicles are confirmed to be arriving in the second quarter of 2024, and the year itself will undoubtedly have more announcements of what we can expect to get our hands on within the next 12 months.

A lot to look forward to

These are all of the cars that have been confirmed by their manufacturers to be launching in South Africa in the first three months of 2024.

Note that this list may potentially be much larger, as various brands have announced at least one new model for next year but have not provided any specific release date.

Several other carmakers have stated that one or more cars will arrive “in the first half of 2024,” which could include the first quarter but more often than not ends up falling within the latter half of the stated launch window.
