Crossovers competing against the affordable new Honda Elevate

Honda has officially launched its new entry-level SUV in South Africa known as the Elevate.

The Elevate is the brand’s replacement for the WR-V and is available in two specifications with prices ranging from R369,900 to R429,900.

Both versions are equipped with a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 89kW and 145Nm, which connects to the front wheels.

The base Comfort model uses a five-speed manual and has an average fuel consumption of 6.5l/100km, while the top-spec Elegance is equipped with a CVT and consumers a more frugal 5.8l/100km.

Standard equipment across the range includes 16-inch steel wheels, LED headlights, daytime running lights, fabric seats, automatic air conditioning, keyless entry and start, a multifunction steering wheel, rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, four speakers, an 8.0-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and two airbags.

Consumers who pick up the Elegance can also expect LED fog lamps, automatic headlights, 17-inch dual-tone alloy rims, eco-friendly leather upholstery, a total of six speakers, a wireless phone charger, four more airbags, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, and a sunroof.

Each purchase comes with a 5-year/200,000km warranty, a 4-year/60,000km service plan, and a 3-year roadside assistance plan.
