Price of a new Ford Territory service plan in South Africa

The new Ford Territory is launching in South Africa soon and in line with the Right-to-Repair (R2R) guidelines, the automaker has unbundled the service plan from the price of its new SUV.

Prospective buyers looking to add the after-sales agreement to their purchase have several service and maintenance plans to choose from with the most affordable 4-year/120,000km option coming in at R14,000.

Customers also have the option to extend these contracts to a maximum of seven years or 200,000km, whichever comes first, to go along with the standard 4-year/120,000km warranty and 4-year/unlimited-kilometre roadside assistance.

The pricing of the Territory with and without the 4-year/120,000km service plan, as provided by Ford, are shown below:

Territory specifications

All versions of the new Ford Territory sport a 1.8-litre, turbocharged petrol engine under the hood putting out 138kW and 318Nm, which is delivered to the front axle via a dual-clutch automatic transmission with seven gears.

Available in three trim levels, the SUV also brings quite a competitive bit of kit to the market.

In entry-level Ambiente spec the five-seater offers all-round LED lights, 18-inch alloys, keyless entry and start, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six speakers, a 7-inch digital driver’s display flanked by analogue gauges, a multifunction steering wheel, cruise control, rear parking sensors, ABS with emergency brake assist, hill-launch assist, hill-descent control, and six airbags.

Shelling out an extra R56,600 for the Trend derivative additionally gets you automatic headlamp activation, rain-sensing wipers, vinyl seat trimmings, a leatherette steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, a wireless charger, a reverse camera, and an electronic tailgate.

In that case, the flagship Titanium grade is delivered with distinctive 19-inch wheels, chrome door handles, power-folding wing mirrors with puddle lamps, front parking sensors, full leather upholstery, electric front seats, a twin-panel panoramic moonroof, multi-colour ambient lighting, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, and eight speakers.

It also boasts Ford’s advanced assistance suite comprising adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, lane-change assist, and traffic jam assist.
