The new Peugeot 3008 went on sale in South Africa at the beginning of April.
This SUV blends a good amount of features with a stylish design that is sure to stand out from the pack.
It now has a frameless grille with the Peugeot logo used as a focal point, while a thin LED strip extends from the headlight cluster to the bottom of the bumper to add some French flare.
The top-end GT model gets a black diamond roof and 19-inch alloy wheels, and the previous generation’s fog lights have now been integrated into the standard LED headlamps.
Inside it is fitted with Nappa leather seats and the new i-Cockpit infotainment system headlines the dashboard.
The i-Cockpit system comprises a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that is fully customisable and configurable, as well as a 10-inch infotainment display.
Entertainment features are covered by Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto – and a wireless charging pad keeps your smartphone charged on the move.
On top of this, the GT trim also offers integrated navigation, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, a hands-free tailgate, and massaging electric seats as standard.
Lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go are standard; and the GT comes standard with a driver assist package, too.
Powering the range is a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol motor that generates 121kW and 240Nm, with drive handled by a six-speed automatic transmission.
This combination allows the front-wheel-drive 3008 to reach 100km/h in 8.9 seconds, while achieving a claimed combined fuel consumption of 7.0l/100km.
The South African starting price for the Peugeot 3008 is R514,900, and the range-topping GT with all of the above-mentioned features comes in at R644,900.
Each model is sold with a 5-year/100,000km warranty and service plan.
