The cheapest and most expensive bakkies from every brand in South Africa

Bakkies are South Africa’s favourite vehicle type, and there’s certainly no shortage of models to choose from in this day and age.

There are no less than 13 different brands that have at least one pickup series, and nearly all of them have variants to suit the needs of both the commercial and private sectors.

The one exception is Jeep, which only boasts a single bakkie in the form of the R1.3-million Gladiator.

Every other company brings multiple options to the table, often including both single and double-cab body types.

With that said, the cheapest high-rider you can buy at present is none other than the R212,999 Mahindra Bolero, which understandably has a rather spartan spec sheet.

On the other hand, the most expensive bakkie in South Africa is the Ineos Quartermaster, which can go for up to R1.8 million depending on the engine choice.

Another noteworthy model is the GWM P500, which is currently the only pickup in the country to offer a full-hybrid powertrain.
