First-ever Mini Aceman launched in South Africa – Pricing and specifications

The new Mini Aceman has finally gone on sale in South Africa, adding an all-new model to the carmaker’s portfolio.
The Aceman was previously scheduled to arrive before the end of 2024, but the crossover has officially debuted in showrooms with two variants on offer from R800,000.
Powertrain
The Aceman is the brand’s first car to be solely offered as an electric vehicle (EV), featuring one of two powertrains.
The base model, the Aceman E, is fitted with a front-mounted electric motor that produces a total of 135kW and 290Nm.
The motor is powered by a 42.5kWh battery, which gives it a driving range of 310km.
It can also accelerate from 0-100km/h in 7.9 seconds, and reach a top speed of 160km/h.
The other model is the SE, which sports a more powerful e-motor with 160kW and 330Nm.
The added power allows the SE to reach 100km/h in 7.1 seconds, and hit a higher speed cap of 170km/h.
Additionally, the top-spec Mini benefits from a larger 54.2kWh battery, which increases the range to 406km.
Both versions support an 11kW AC charging cable, which can replenish the bigger cell in roughly four hours and 15 minutes.
If you’re in a hurry, you can also use a 95kW DC cable, which will achieve an 80% top-up in under 30 minutes.

Features
The Aceman serves as the middle child of Mini’s EV family, slotting between the Cooper SE and the Countryman SE in terms of price and size.
It measures 4,070mm long, 1,750mm wide, and 1,500mm tall, and features styling language reminiscent of its siblings, complemented by a closed-off rectangular grille.
However, its headlights and daytime running lights have a unique appearance to set them apart from the rest of the Mini range, and it comes with either 17 or 19-inch alloy rims, depending on the trim level.
Mini’s design language carries through to the interior, where you’ll find the brand’s signature two-spoke multifunction steering wheel and a central 9.4-inch OLED display that shows both the driver and infotainment functions.
The seats and interior trim are made from sustainable materials, including recycled polyester, textiles, and Vescin (Mini’s vegan leather).
The crossover also comes with customizable ambient lighting, keyless entry and start, automatic climate control, front and rear parking sensors, cruise control, a reverse camera, and six airbags.
Buyers can further customize their purchase with a series of optional extras, such as a Harmon Kardon stereo, a heads-up display, a panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, a surround-view camera, and blind-spot monitoring.

Pricing
The South African pricing for the new Mini Aceman is as follows:
This includes a 2-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty, a 5-year/100,000km maintenance plan, and an 8-year/100,000km battery warranty.
