SUVs competing on price against the BMW X3 M Competition

The South African pricing for the new BMW X3 M Competition was recently released, with this high-performance SUV starting at R1,970,562.

For this price, you get an SUV that hits 100km/h in 3.8 seconds, while also being able to carry four passengers and 550 litres of cargo.

Allowing the impressive versatility that the X3 M Competition is capable of is a 3.0-litre, twin-turbo, petrol engine paired to an eight-speed sports automatic transmission.

The configuration generates a healthy 375kW and 650Nm, directed to all four wheels via the xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

Top speed for the SUV then comes in at 285km/h, while combined fuel consumption is 10.6l/100km.

Upgrades

The X3 M Competition is fitted with the M Adaptive suspension, active M differential, M Sport exhaust, M Compound brakes, and 21-inch wheels as standard.

To set it apart from its siblings even further, the exterior also features the Shadowline styling package, aggressive front and rear bumpers, BMW Laserlights, a boot spoiler, black “M double web” wing mirrors, quad-exhaust outlets, and exclusive badging.

In the cabin, every new X3 M Competition sees the fitment of leather sports seats, a sports multifunction steering wheel, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch infotainment display with integrated navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
