The new Land Rover Defender 90 V8 will cost you R44,687 per month if you buy the SUV using a vehicle finance plan.

The Defender V8 range recently went on sale in South Africa at a starting price of R2,386,900 for the Defender 90 V8.

The Defender V8 range comprises four models in total – including the longer-wheelbase Defender 110 V8, as well as both body styles in a Carpathian Edition specification.

The latter goes all the way up to a starting price of R2,555,900.

All derivatives are fitted with a thunderous 5.0-litre, supercharged, V8 engine generating 386kW and 625Nm.

Paired to a sophisticated eight-speed automatic gearbox and four-wheel-drive system, the setup allows the shorter version of the new Defenders to reach 100km/h in 5.2 seconds, while the larger one gets there in 5.4 seconds.

Both can reach a 240km/h top speed, too, while off-road abilities remain market-leading thanks to bespoke suspension, electronic differentials, and a Terrain Response off-road programme.

The Carpathian Editions then take it a step further in terms of styling and looks, with these versions set apart by a Narvik Black roof, bonnet, and tail door; exclusive badging; Satin Black towing eyes; blue brake callipers; and a recyclable satin protective film wrap.
