Coolest car-inspired whisky, pool tables, and jackets

Did you know that carmakers love to dabble in fashion, furniture, alcohol, and men’s grooming?

Below, we list the coolest car-inspired creations you can buy, or could buy, which were backed by automotive brands.

Aston Martin x Bowmore Whisky

The Aston Martin and Bowmore “Bowmore Masters’ Selection” single malt whisky takes inspiration “from an engineered approach”.

“This whisky incorporates the divine proportion of 61.8% formed from a base of 21-year-old Bowmore matured in first-fill Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks,” said Aston Martin.

“The remaining parts are made up of exact ratios of each other, in line with the Golden Ratio theory, and include exceptionally-aged Bowmore matured for over 35 years.”

It sells for $300 (R4,800).

Bentley Home Collection

Bentley’s Home division recently brought out four new furniture designs.

On offer are the Aldford table, Ramsey Sofa and Loveseat, and Styal desk.

“Strong, distinctive lines and timeless shapes characterise the new furniture designs by Carlo Colombo in close collaboration with Bentley Design,” said Bentley.

The collection is available on the Bentley Home website.

Bugatti x IXO Pool Table

In June, Bugatti expanded its lifestyle collection with a pool table created with IXO.

The table is constructed out of carbon fibre, aluminium, titanium, and leather – and comes with carbon fibre pool cues with machined-aluminium ends.

The pool table goes for $300,000 (R4.8 million) and only 30 examples will be produced.

Bugatti x Gillette Labs Heated Razor

Bugatti and Gillette Labs launched a Special Edition Heated Razor in September.

“With the push of a button, the Special Edition Heated Razor activates and delivers instant soothing warmth for a noticeably more comfortable shave and sensorial experience,” said Bugatti.

The razor is built from an aluminium-zinc alloy and launched in select markets in 2021 for $170 (R2,700).

Lamborghini x The Italian Sea Group Motoryacht

The “Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63” Motoryacht is more akin to a speedboat than anything else.

The cutting-edge vessel features two V12 engines generating 1,491kW (2,000hp) each, measures 20.1 metres long, and weighs 24 tonnes.

It is capable of reaching speeds of 60 knots (111km/h) and has a price of $3.6 million (R57.55 million).

Only 63 units will be made – with one example owned by Conor McGregor.

Lotus x Norton & Sons Driving Jacket

Lotus and tailor Norton & Sons have produced a “lightweight luxury driving jacket” with advanced materials and design.

To get this jacket you would need to part with £2 million (R42.5 million), as it only comes with the purchase of a Lotus Evija hypercar.

Mercedes-Benz x Hartan Pushchair

Mercedes-Benz and Hartan have developed a Mercedes-Benz-themed pushchair.

The pushchair is built with a lightweight aluminium chassis and organic cotton interior, and is offered in Avantgarde, Performance, and AMG GT models.

The pushchairs are available on the Hartan website.

Rolls-Royce Cellarette

The Rolls-Royce Cellarette is a bespoke, leather-lined cigar and whisky chest designed to “entertain and delight guests”.

The cedarwood chest features an aluminium bottle holder, an “Obsidian Ayous” serving tray, hand-blown glasses, a humidity-controlled cigar tray, and an S.T. Dupont lighter and cigar cutter.

It is available from £40,750 (R859,100).

Rolls-Royce Pursuit Seat

The Rolls-Royce Pursuit Seat is a portable chair that ensures Rolls-Royce owners are “no longer confined to the interior of a Rolls-Royce motor car”.

It features a handcrafted leather seat and sits on carbon fibre and polished aluminium supports.

The Pursuit Seat is available at a starting price of £6,581 (R139,300).

Volvo x Casca Sustainable Shoes

To promote its mission to go leather-free by 2030, Volvo and Casca have created “sustainable” shoes produced with recyclable materials.

The sneaker is made, in part, from recycled plastic bottles and recycled tyres.

The shoes can be bought in a limited run at a price of $158 (R2,525).
