Nissan Terra sold out in South Africa – Here are the other 7-seater SUVs you can buy

Every South African-bound unit of the new Nissan Terra has been sold, and no additional Terra vehicles have been confirmed for South Africa as yet.

The Nissan Terra is based on the brand’s mid-size bakkie – the Navara – and it sits on the same ladder-frame chassis.

This gives the SUV a high ground clearance of 243mm and imposing dimensions of 4,900mm long, 1,865mm wide, and 1,865mm tall.

The Terra is offered in South Africa in XE, SE, and LE specification grades – with the XE and SE available with both 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrains, while the LE can only be had with the 4×4 system.

One engine then drives the range, a 2.5-litre, turbo-diesel unit producing 140kW and 450Nm. This is paired to either a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic transmission.

As a result, the Terra delivers a combined fuel consumption between 8.0l-8.3l/100km, as well as a maximum braked towing capacity of 2,100kg.
