The Ineos Grenadier 4×4 that is coming to South Africa can now be ordered from local dealers for a reservation fee of R10,000.
Customers who place their order now can expect to receive their vehicles in October, Ineos South Africa told TopAuto.
“The reason we’re estimating [October] is because we’re unsure whether there will be global transport delays due to [the] situation in Ukraine. But at this stage it looks like October,” said the company.
Two dealer partners are locally available for the Ineos Grenadier:
The manufacturer said the current indicative South African pricing for the Grenadier is R1,395,000.
What to expect
According to its local agents, the Ineos Grenadier is a “powerful new SUV that is going to redefine what it means to get the job done.”
“Featuring permanent four-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer case, as well as centre, rear, and front locking differentials, the Grenadier is an off-road adventurer with advanced 4×4 technology.”
Boasting a 3.0-litre, straight-six turbo-petrol or twin-turbo diesel engine sourced from BMW, too, the 4×4 aims to appeal to every possible customer from “overland enthusiasts to rescue service workers.”
Additionally, the Grenadier is underpinned by a ladder-frame chassis with underride protection and solid beam axles, alongside coil-sprung suspension allowing it to “comfortably tow a trailer, a boat, or horse with ease.”
Optionally, buyers can also install a raised air intake if they regularly explore dusty environments.
The off-roader’s cabin sees a rugged design that can be rinsed out with a hose thanks to plugs in the floor and use of waterproof materials.
It further gets heated Recaro seats, a 12.3-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB connectivity, electrical power take-off, and the Pathfinder off-road navigation system.
“Reliability and strength are critical in an expedition vehicle like the Grenadier, which is why the Ineos engineering team put the Grenadier through 1.8 million km of extensive testing across all terrains, altitudes, and climates, to ensure it’s ready to do the jobs you need it to do,” said SMH Group.
