R400,000 competitors to the new Chery Tiggo 7 Pro

Chery’s new Tiggo 7 Pro has entered the local market in an extremely competitive price bracket, between R400,000-R450,000.

For a very reasonable starting price of R409,900 – going up to a maximum of R444,900 – the Chery offers ample features and respectable power in quite a good-looking shell.

As standard, buyers of the SUV get leather seats, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, a wireless charger, automatic LED lights, keyless entry and start, a reverse camera, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Furthermore, the Tiggo 7 Pro range is powered by a 1.5-litre, turbo-petrol motor pushing out 108kW and 210Nm – paired with a CVT transmission driving the front wheels.

Combined fuel consumption for this setup is pegged at 6.8l/100km, but Chery has not revealed how fast its new SUV can go, or how much it can tow.

Cargo capacity then comes in at 475 litres, which can be extended to 1,500 litres in a two-seater configuration.

Each new Tiggo 7 Pro is sold with a 5-year/60,000km service plan, 5-year/unlimited kilometre roadside assistance, a 5-year/150,000km general warranty, and a 10-year/1-million kilometre engine warranty for the original owner.
