Crossovers you can buy for the same price as the Honda HR-V

Honda’s latest crossover, the new HR-V is now available in South Africa for those looking for a sportier entry in the country’s mini-SUV category.

The new car is available in two trim levels – the Comfort and Executive – with prices starting at R469,000 and R554,500, respectively.

The HR-V line-up is well-fitted as far as interior offerings are concerned, as the crossover boasts a multifunction steering wheel, smart key system, adaptive cruise control, and a four-speaker, 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Furthermore, the climate control is now capable of diffusing a natural “breeze-like sensation” along the sides of the cabin, which helps to mitigate temperature transfers from outside the car, said the company.

Safety features that are fitted to both specs also include lane-keep assist, hill descent control, four airbags, and an automatic-braking collision mitigation system.

Those who opt for the Executive model can expect additional luxuries such as a wireless charging dock, extra speakers, a lane-watch assist camera system that displays the car’s blindspots to the infotainment unit, and a special “Low-E” glass panoramic sunroof that minimizes the intensity of UV light that enters the cabin by 75%.

Powering each HR-V is then a 1.5-litre petrol engine connected to a CVT gearbox, the setup producing 89kW and 145Nm at a combined consumption rating of 6.0l/100km.
