Most popular car from every brand in South Africa

The most popular car in South Africa last month was the Suzuki Swift, which sold just under 2,000 units.

Over 41,000 cars were sold in the country in June, indicating steady growth for the recovering industry.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser overtook the Hilux as the most popular vehicle from the brand. In contrast, the VW Polo Vivo continues to be the German automaker’s poster child.

The Ford Ranger, meanwhile, proved to be South Africa’s favourite bakkie, beating out the Isuzu D-Max as well as the usual best-seller, the aforementioned Hilux.

In addition to the Swift and Polo Vivo, other popular hatches consisted of the affordable Kia Picanto and Hyundai Atos models.

Crossovers continued to be big sellers, too, with the Renault Kiger and Haval Jolion performing well this past month.

In terms of supercars, the SF90 was Ferrari’s best-performing vehicle. Brands like Porsche and Lamborghini did not reveal model-specific sales, though Porsche has previously stated that the Macan and Cayenne SUVs are its most popular units.

In a similar vein, it’s likely that the phenomenally popular Urus was Lamborghini’s preferred vehicle in June, although this was not confirmed by the manufacturer.
