March was another incredible month for bakkie sales in South Africa with the light commercial vehicle segment sending more than 15,000 units to new homes in the last 31 days.
The Toyota Hilux is still comfortably holding onto its crown as the best-selling vehicle in the country with a total of 3,920 units, marking an impressive improvement of 585 units over the Hilux’s February sales numbers.
Ford and Isuzu are still locking horns for second place, though last month Isuzu was able to pull ahead with 2,289 D-Max units sold compared to the blue oval’s 2,247 Rangers.
Fourth place, on the other hand, is still reliably occupied by the affordable Nissan NP200, which moved 1,404 models in March.
Mahindra’s increasingly popular Pik Up line then managed to take fifth place with 966 sales – an increase of over 100 units from the previous month.
Other entries to make it into the top 10 include the Nisan Navara, Toyota Land Cruiser, VW Amarok, and GWM’s Steed and P-Series.
