New VW Polo GTI Black Style goes on sale in South Africa – Pricing

The VW Polo GTI has finally been given the new Black Style Package in South Africa.

The Black Style is a bespoke visual upgrade that was first shown to the media at the annual Volkswagen Indaba back in February 2025, and it has just been added to the company’s online configurator.

Like the many other styling packs that the company has released for the Polo over the years, the Black Style adds a host of new cosmetics for the flagship GTI hot hatch, further elevating its appeal.

VW has also confirmed that the Polo GTI Black Style will make an appearance at the Festival of Motoring this weekend alongside other hotly-anticipated models like the limited-edition Polo Vivo 15 Edition, the Golf 8 GTI, and a new 222kW petrol version of the Amarok bakkie.

What’s included

The Black Style replaces the Polo’s standard 17-inch “Milton Keynes” alloy rims with a new set of gloss-black 18-inch “Adelaide” ones that make for a nice contrast with the red brake calipers.

It also has a contrasting two-tone black roof, and high-gloss black finishes for exterior components like the door mirrors, lower grille surround, and rear diffuser.

Lastly, the rear side and back windows have been given a privacy glass tint, bringing the dark theme of the package together.

The Black Style pack costs R10,000, bringing the total cost of the Polo GTI up to R595,800.

The rest of the car is unchanged, which means buyers can look forward to a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 147kW and 320Nm.

This is sent down to the front wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Accelerating from 0 to 100km/h takes just 6.7 seconds, and the GTI can reach a top speed of 238km/h.

Other standard equipment includes adaptive suspension, Matrix LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers, a leather multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters, heated Sports seats, automatic climate control, an 8-inch digital driver display, and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

It also has cruise control, driver attention monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, and six airbags.

Each purchase comes with a 3-year/120,000km warranty and a 3-year/45,000km service plan.
