Nissan X-Trail price slashed by R100,000 – For a limited time

Nissan has slashed the price of the X-Trail by up to R100,000 for a limited time

The Japanese automaker launched the lightly updated SUV in South Africa this week alongside the new Magnite Kuro – a limited-edition model for the popular crossover series.

The X-Trail, which has received a “new model year update,” is available in three specifications, all of which have been heavily discounted, albeit temporarily.

The price cuts range from R63,000 to R100,000, depending on the model, and the SUV now starts at R587,900.

Engine

The X-Trail series is powered by a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which pumps out 125kW and 244Nm.

All three versions are fitted with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), but the wheel configuration changes depending on the model

The base Visia and mid-range Acenta are front-wheel-drive (FWD), while the top-spec Acenta Plus has a four-wheel-drive (4WD) system.

The FWD units achieve an average fuel consumption of 7.4l/100km, while the 4WD version uses slightly more with an average of 7.8l/100km.

Features

The 2025 model year update is rather minor, adding a new wireless charging pad and an “approach/unlock walk-away lock” door function across the range.

That being said, the X-Trail already comes with a lot of kit, starting with LED headlights, daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry and start, manual aircon, a multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters, fabric seats, and an 8-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Visia also features cruise control, hill start and descent control, front collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, driver attention monitoring, rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera.

Upgrading to the Acenta will add larger 18-inch alloys, a leather steering wheel, synthetic leather upholstery, heated electronic front seats, dual-zone climate control, blind spot detection, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Anyone who grabs the Acenta Plus can expect two more seats in the back, rain-sensing wipers, a digital driver display, a 36-degree camera, 19-inch alloys, and an expanded 12.3-inch touchscreen with onboard navigation.

The Visia and Acenta have a 585-litre boot, which drops to 485 litres on the Acenta Plus on account of the extra seats.
