New Haval Jolion Pro launched in South Africa – Pricing and features
GWM has updated the popular Haval Jolion Pro for South Africa.
The compact SUV has received new features and a variety of new cosmetics meant to enhance its sporty aesthetic.
“The Jolion Pro is designed for drivers who want to have a little fun with their everyday,” said Floyd Ramabulana, Head of Marketing at GWM South Africa.
“It brings a fresh sense of energy and sophistication to the compact SUV segment, offering the perfect balance between fun, functionality and modern performance.”
The Jolion Pro is available in five specifications, and prices now start at R392,150.
Engines
The Pro is sold with one of three engines, starting with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol block good for 105kW and 210Nm.
This is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox that sends power to the front wheels, leading to an average fuel consumption of 8.1l/100km.
This option is available on the first three units – the Premium, Super Luxury, and Ultra Luxury – and you’ll have to upgrade to the S Ultra Luxury for the next powertrain.
More specifically, the S has a more potent 1.5-litre turbo-petrol mill with 130kW and 270Nm.
It has the same gearbox and achieves a better fuel consumption of 7.5l/100km.
Last but not least is the flagship HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle), which pairs a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and a dedicated hybrid transmission.
The result is a combined output of 140kW and 375Nm while achieving the lowest fuel consumption of the group at 5.1l/100km.
Features

The biggest addition to the Jolion is a new “smoked black” package that adds dark elements to the grille, window trim, and rear diffuser, which is meant to complement the crossover’s aggressive styling.
The automaker has also added a new 50W wireless charging pad, USB Type-C ports, and a new, thicker Sport steering wheel with paddle shifters.
One significant change is that the infotainment screen (which ranges from 10.25 inches to 12.3 inches depending on the model) has been updated to support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as voice commands.
These new inclusions add to the list of features already present on the Pro, which starts with 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, keyless entry and start, automatic climate control, a 3.5-inch driver’s display, a reverse camera, four speakers, cruise control, rear parking sensors, and hill assist.
The mid-range Luxury units will then add LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, lane-keep assist, a panoramic sunroof, Eco-leather seats, an electric driver’s seat, and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster.
The range-topping HEV also comes with a heads-up display, a wireless charger, heated and ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, blind-spot detection, and a parking assistant.
