New Audi Q2 launched in South Africa – And it’s R70,000 cheaper

Audi has officially launched the Q2 S Line in South Africa, a new entry-level model for its popular crossover series.

The S Line has a starting price of R679,000, making it R69,280 less expensive than the previous base option, the Urban Edition, which asks for R748,280.

With this, the Q2 series is now comprised of three models – the S Line, Urban Edition, and Black Edition – each with their own distinct character.

Audi South Africa stated that the new S Line gives customers a more accessible entry into the Q2 range while retaining the premium qualities expected from Audi.

The Q2 S Line is now available to order from Audi South Africa’s nationwide dealership network.

Engine

The Q2 range is equipped with the brand’s 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol (35TFSI) engine, which develops 110kW and 250Nm.

This is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch “S tronic” automatic gearbox, which sends power to the front wheels, resulting in an average fuel consumption of 6.1l/100km.

The compact SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 8.8 seconds, and it has a top speed of 213km/h.

Features

The new S Line sets the benchmark for the Q2’s equipment sheet, featuring 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, Matrix LED headlights with a dynamic light sequence, LED taillights, rain-sensing wipers, and sports suspension.

It also uses the brand’s “virtual cockpit” with a digital driver display and an infotainment screen with smartphone connectivity and an Audi sound system.

Other features include front sports seats, cloth upholstery, two USB ports, a leather multifunction steering wheel, ambient lighting, and automatic air conditioning.

Safety and assistance fittings on the crossover comprise ABS, cruise control, lane departure warning, front and rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera.
