The My BMW app is now available for BMW customers in South Africa.
The app works with both iOS and Android smartphones, and “acts as a new universal interface with the car, providing information on the vehicle’s status at any time”.
The My BMW app provides control over certain vehicle features directly from your smartphone, and will allow customers to contact their preferred dealership directly and provide them with a detailed overview of their vehicle’s servicing requirements.
Standout features included in the My BMW app are:
- BMW Maps
- Climate timer
- Charging plan
- Filter function for charging station search
The climate timer function will allow pre-airconditioning of your vehicle by heating or cooling the interior before you get in.
The charging plan then provides owners of electric BMWs with a quick overview of all information on the current charging process of their vehicle.
The filter function for charging station search also makes it easy to find suitable charging stations, while updated BMW Maps offers greater ease of use and the ability to send destination addresses from a smartphone to the car.
Depending on the vehicle’s fitted equipment, the app will also allow remote operations such as:
- Vehicle locating
- Locking and unlocking the doors
- Monitoring the car’s surrounds through remote 3D view
“The My BMW app is a new development that will fully replace the BMW Connected app from July 2021, and provide a technologically future-proof foundation,” said BMW.
