The I-PACE Black is the newest addition to the all-electric performance SUV line-up from Jaguar.
This new model benefits from an enhanced standard specification list and black exterior design elements that differentiate this model from its siblings.
On the outside, standard features include a panoramic roof, privacy glass, and the black styling package.
This sees the addition of a gloss black grille and grille surrounds, door mirror caps, side window surrounds, and rear badges.
Along with this, the 20-inch five-spoke wheels are also treated to a gloss black finish.
In the interior, the I-PACE Black features ebony leather sports seats and gloss black finishes that continue the darkened look.
Features
The new I-PACE Black has a high level of standard cabin technologies.
The Pivi Pro infotainment system is fitted as standard, an embedded SIM enables music streaming through the car’s audio system, and a smartphone pack allows Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionalities.
Jaguar also stated they will be enabling wireless operation of the smartphone mirroring apps through software-over-the-air updates.
Additionally, two smartphones can be connected to the vehicle at once and an optional wireless charging pad beneath the centre console features a signal booster that improves network reception.
“The I-PACE can even filter its cabin air before you begin a journey” through the fitment of air ionisation filters in the passenger compartment, said the company.
Adaptive cruise control with steering assist increases daily driving comfort, and a rear-view-camera that can project a feed onto the digital rear-view mirror wraps up the technologically-advanced cabin.
Power
Each axle of the I-PACE gets its own Jaguar-designed electric motor.
The entire powertrain develops 294kW of power and 696Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0-100km/h in 4.8 seconds.
Power is delivered to the floor through all four wheels.
When charging the 90kWh battery with an 11kW wall charger, a full charge will take around 8.6 hours – translating to roughly 53km of range per one hour of charging.
When charging “one the go”, a 60kW DC charger will fill the SUV from 0-80% in just over one hour, adding up to 100km of range in 20 minutes.
“The Jaguar I-PACE Black is scheduled for South African introduction in the third quarter of 2021 with pricing to be announced closer to the time,” concludes the company.
