Haval Jolion SUV unveiled for South Africa – Pricing and details

GWM’s Haval brand has unveiled its latest SUV for South Africa – the Haval Jolion.

The company said the SUV features a “futuristic expressive design” and packs sporty elements such as LED tail lights and elegant styling lines.

The exterior design is further enhanced by daytime-running lights and chrome finishes around the vehicle.

“The interior feel is premium and sporty, a combination rarely felt in small to midsize SUVs,” said Haval.

“Every element, much like that of a fighter pilots’ cockpit, is ergonomically interconnected and easily within reach of the driver.”

Haval stated that the finishes inside the cabin are class-leading and soft-touch materials have been used throughout.

A large amount of space is then available to occupants, along with a range of technological options – supported by a 12.3-inch display which controls the infotainment system.

An electronic parking brake, virtual instrument cluster, wireless charging pad, a heads-up display, keyless entry, and push-button start are also available.

Model options

The Haval Jolion features a boot which can take 33 litres of luggage when all the seats are up, and up to 1,133 litres of cargo when the passenger seats are placed down.

A long list of safety features have also been provided for the new SUV, including cruise control, dual and front airbags, ABS and EBD, as well as electronic stability control and traction control.

“Anti-roll, secondary collision mitigation, hill assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and rear park sensors – these features aren’t optional, they are standard on all variants,” said Haval.

The new Haval SUV will be available in five variants in South Africa, with prices starting at just under R300,000.

All models will be fitted with a 1.5-litre turbo engine that produces 105kW and 210Nm of torque.

This will be mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DCT system, with all models listed as two-wheel-drive.
