The Hilux is once again the leader when it comes to new vehicle sales for Toyota in South Africa.
Toyota revealed this information as part of a statement on the Naamsa April 2021 new vehicle sales figures for the country.
Toyota sold over 8,000 new vehicles during the month, taking first spot among the brands.
It was followed by VW in second place, with just over 6,000 vehicles sold.
“Toyota South Africa recorded a total of 8,810 sales in April, affording the company a market share of 24.6%,” it said.
Toyota said it registered 4,745 units in the light commercial vehicle segment – claiming a market share of 43.6% – and 3,885 units in the passenger segment.
This gave it a market share of 17% in the passenger segment.
Toyota South Africa Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Leon Theron added that the company serviced 115,725 vehicles across their brands during the month, and sold 1.3 million vehicle parts.
