Subaru Southern Africa has introduced an expanded maintenance plan as standard with all new vehicles purchased through its authorised dealership network.
The Japanese carmaker’s local division confirmed that the upgrade took effect on 1 August 2026 and that this will replace the brand’s old coverage scheme.
The new plan increases Subaru’s maintenance cover from a 3-year/75,000km plan to a 5-year/105,000km plan, adding 2 years and 30,000km to its standard package.
“Introduced under the campaign theme “Love our new standard”, the enhanced plan forms part of Subaru Southern Africa’s focus on strengthening the value offered throughout the ownership experience,” it said.
The improved maintenance plan is in addition to the carmaker’s standard 5-year/150,000km vehicle warranty. Subaru said the more comprehensive cover is meant to strengthen the brand’s competitiveness against increasingly premium product offerings.
“Moving from 3 years/75,000 km to 5 years/105,000 km represents a meaningful enhancement to the value included with every new Subaru,” said Nteo Nkoli, National Marketing Manager at Subaru Southern Africa.
“Our customers are not only investing in a vehicle; they are investing in long-term confidence and peace of mind. By extending our standard maintenance cover, we are making the Subaru ownership proposition more compelling while remaining true to the safety, quality and capability for which Subaru is known.”
Customers seeking longer-term cover have the option to extend their maintenance plan by an additional 2 years/45,000km, raising the total maintenance cover offered up to 7 years/105,000km.
The maintenance plan itself included scheduled servicing and replacements for specified wear-and-tear items such as:
- Brake pads
- Wiper blades
- Key batteries
- Vehicle batteries
