Kia has unveiled a new range-topping model for the Sportage SUV range, the Sportage GT-Line.
The GT-Line is fitted with a range of luxury and convenience features as standard, with sporty styling enhancements setting it apart from its more affordable siblings.
The GT-Line also gets the most powerful 1.6-litre engine in the Sportage line-up, along with an intelligent all-wheel-drive system.
On the outside, the Sportage GT-Line is recognisable through the fitment of front Bi-LED and rear LED lights, dual exhaust outlets in chrome, model-specific skid plates, and exclusive 19-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the SUV sports two-tone, diamond-patterned, artificial leather seats; a glossy centre console; a GT-branded flatbottom steering wheel; and a 4.2-inch multi-information display in the instrument cluster.
It also offers smart entry and keyless start, dual-zone climate control, auto-folding wing mirrors, automatic headlights, a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, a wireless charger, cruise control, and electrically adjustable and heated front seats.
Connectivity is then taken care of through an 8-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, and a rear-view camera with front and rear parking sensors assist the driver in manoeuvering the Sportage.
In addition, passenger safety is covered by six airbags, ABS with downhill brake control, hill-start assist, and electronic stability control.
Luggage capacity for the Sportage GT-Line comes in at 466 litres with the rear seats up, and 1,455 litres in two-seater configuration.
At the front of the Kia Sportage GT-Line sits a 1.6-litre, turbo-petrol engine developing 130kW and 265Nm.
Drive is sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed, dual-clutch, automatic transmission, which allows the GT-Line to sprint to 100km/h in 9.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 201km/h.
The Kia Sportage 1.6 T-GDi AWD GT-Line has a South African price of R649,995.
Each purchase includes a 5-year/unlimited kilometre warranty, a 5-year/90,000km service plan, and 5-year/unlimited kilometre roadside assistance.
The new Sportage GT-Line officially goes on sale across South Africa on 15 October 2021, with pre-orders already open.
