Toyota has taken the top three spots for best-selling new cars in South Africa during November.
The Hilux bakkie was in first place, with 2,558 units sold, and helped Toyota to a total of over 11,000 new vehicles sold during the month.
During November, aggregate new vehicle sales for the country increased to a total of 41,588 units.
Toyota increased its sales by 1,964 units compared to October’s performance, while VW, in second place overall, saw a 477-unit dip.
VW’s sales drop can be seen when looking at its popular Polo hatchback – which typically takes second place for best-selling vehicle in the country.
In November, it moved to seventh place.
The Polo Vivo went from third to fifth place during the past month, with both second and third place now occupied by Toyota cars.
Another notable change in the top 20 list is the Haval Jolion, Nissan Magnite, and Nissan Navara not featuring.
The Ford EcoSport, on the other hand, made its way onto the best-sellers list in November – as did the Renault Triber, Toyota Agya, and Suzuki S-Presso.
