Bespoke Jaguar F-Pace SVR unveiled – 5 units coming to South Africa

Jaguar has unveiled the F-Pace SVR Edition 1988 of which only 394 units will be made.
“Only five F-Pace SVR Edition 1988 units will make their way to South Africa with pricing and availability to be announced at a later stage,” said Jaguar South Africa.
The Edition 1988 was crafted by the hands of the SV Bespoke personalisation department to bring about an emotive specification inspired by Jaguar’s racing heritage.
The name of the new F-Pace, as well as the total examples that will be built, pays tribute to the number of laps completed by the winning Jaguar XJR-9 LM at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1988.
The details
The new F-Pace SVR Edition 1988 is offered in a model-exclusive Midnight Amethyst Gloss paintwork, complemented by a unique Sunset Gold Satin Jaguar leaper emblem and script on the tailgate.
A laser-etched Edition 1988 logo is applied to each front wing panel, and Champagne Gold Satin 22-inch forged alloy wheels enhances the look.
The SVR Black Pack is also fitted to the new special-edition model and is extended to include black wing mirror caps, brake calipers, wheel centre caps, and R lettering in the SVR badge.
The high-end trims continue inside the cabin, with the new SUV offering open-pore carbon fibre finishes, Ebony leather upholstery, a “One of 394” SV Bespoke graphic, heated and cooled front performance seats, a heads-up display, a sliding panoramic roof, a wireless charger, and Sunset Gold Satin detailing smattered across the dashboard, steering wheel spokes, gear shift paddles, and upholstery.
The Jaguar leaper and horn ring on the steering wheel are completed in Satin Black, too, while SV Bespoke and Edition 1988 branding on the illuminated treadplates and dashboard completes the package.
“The Pivi Pro infotainment system now also incorporates what3words, meaning navigation destinations can be set using unique three-word strings that correspond to precise 3m sq locations,” said the manufacturer.
“Just type the words ‘wins.report.miracle’, for example, to arrive at the main entrance of the Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans.”
As with the standard model, the F-Pace SVR Edition 1988 is powered by a 5.0-litre, V8, supercharged motor mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Maximum output for the monstrous drivetrain comes in at 405kW and 700Nm, allowing a top speed of 286km/h and 0-100km/h to be vanquished in four seconds flat.
Edition 1988 launch
“The Jaguar F-PACE SVR Edition 1988 will be presented alongside the 1988 Le Mans-winning XJR-9 on Special Vehicle Operations’ display at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, June 8-12,” said the manufacturer.
It will also make its dynamic debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 23-26.
