Haval has announced that its new hybrid H6 is now on sale in South Africa in one specification at a starting price of R669,950.
The “self-charging Haval” mates a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with an electric motor to achieve better performance at a lower cost of fuel when compared to the standard variants.
The drivetrain puts out a combined 179kW and 530Nm while averaging a 5.2l/100km fuel consumption, compared to the petrol-only models’ 150kW, 320Nm, and 7.4l/100km.
Thanks to a two-speed dedicated hybrid transmission turning the front wheels, the H6 HEV also boasts “impressive torque launch” with a 0-100km/h time of 8.5 seconds.
Additionally, it brings Standard, Eco, Sport, and Snow drive modes, as well as three dynamic steering settings.
Standard equipment
The new H6 HEV sees a generous level of equipment in this Ultra Luxury trim line, as potential buyers can look forward to artificial leather trimmings, smart keyless entry with push-button start, a panoramic sunroof, a customisable heads-up display, a 10.25-inch configurable driver’s cluster, and a 12.3-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
This is on top of electric, heated, and ventilated front seats, a wireless smartphone charger, automatic headlights and wipers, an auto-lift tailgate, and dual-zone air conditioning.
Continuing the standard spec is a host of driver assistance programmes including front and rear park distance control, a 360-degree camera system, fully-automatic parking, reverse memory assistance, autonomous emergency braking, traffic jam assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, door opening warning, lane-keep steering with departure warnings, and full-speed adaptive cruise control.
As for the design, the partially-electrified Haval is differentiated from its siblings with a model-exclusive front section comprising a new grille and bumper, 19-inch Sports alloy wheels, gloss black accents, a rear roof spoiler, and sleek LED headlights.
Each new Haval H6 is sold with a 5-year/100,000km warranty, a 5-year/60,000km service plan, and an 8-year/150,000km hybrid battery warranty.
