New Roush Mustang coming to South Africa – 578kW of pure power

The Performance Centre in Pretoria will bring the most powerful Roush Mustang ever to South Africa in the second quarter of 2021.
This vehicle will commemorate the 25th anniversary of Roush Performance Products.
“With over 560kW, this Roush Mustang comes with upgrades that enhance the car’s character for road and track use,” said Andrew Mtsweni, Marketing Manager at the Performance Centre.
Details
Each Roush Stage 3 Mustang starts as a standard Ford Mustang GT.
The Performance Centre installs a Roush supercharger onto the 5.0-litre V8 engine which increases power from 331kW and 529Nm to 560kW and 910Nm.
Additional Roush components, such as two auxiliary coolers, a differential cooler, and automatic transmission cooler then keeps temperatures stable.
If the customer wants even more power, it can further be raised to 578kW with upgrades consisting of a new air filter, upgraded supercharger belt, additional tuning, and optimised calibration of the engine’s ECU.
Once finished with the engine compartment, the Roush Mustang is treated to more upgrades that let it stand out on public roads.
The 20-inch, Jet Black or Agate Grey wheels are covered in high-performance Continental ExtremeContact Tyres, and the suspension is swapped for Roush-calibrated MagneRide Suspension.
The latter provides tauter body control and reduces body lean during braking and cornering, according to the Performance Centre.
Alongside the exterior and mechanical upgrades is a rather lengthy list of interior bits to make your Mustang even more elite on the inside.
This includes:
- Roush toolkit
- Roush key fob
- Illuminated door sills
- Roush-embossed floor mats
- Custom gauge cluster overlays
- Roush-branded sports leather seats
A Podium Package is also available upon request, which adds a carbon fibre rear wing with active aerodynamics, Brembo brakes, and Roush billet pedals.
Every new Roush Mustang carries a certificate of authenticity along with a serial plaque on the dashboard.
Pricing for the vehicles will be confirmed closer to the launch date in the second quarter of 2021.
