New Hyundai Santa Fe in South Africa – Pricing and specifications

Hyundai has unveiled the new Santa Fe for the South African market.
It is not a completely new model, but rather a facelift of the fourth generation that was released in 2018.
The front is redesigned to look more modern – with sharper headlights, a larger grille, and stylish daytime running lights.
The rear looks very similar to the outgoing model, with only slightly-newer tail lamps, a red crossbar, and a new bumper fitted.
The side profile looks largely similar, apart from the stylish new wheels.
The Executive trim gets five-spoke 18-inch wheels, while the Elite, as the more expensive trim, gets 19-inch or 20-inch alloys.
The Elite model adds a panoramic sunroof as standard, too.
Features
On the inside, both models are fitted with leather seats, a touchscreen infotainment system that supports Bluetooth and smartphone mirroring, and tri-zone climate control.
Both also come with seven seats as standard, in addition to a wireless charging pad, a rear-view camera, and a smart tailgate.
The Elite then gets two additional driving modes for off-road conditions, rear window curtains, and heated and ventilated front seats.
It also comes with a digital instrument cluster, whereas the Executive gets analogue dials with a multi-information display.
Standard safety systems comprise remote start, rear cross traffic warnings, safety power windows, and blind spot collision warning.
Safe exit assist also uses these features to provide a warning if it is not safe to open the SUV’s doors, and rear occupant alert in the Elite variant warns you not to forget anything, or anyone, in the back seat.
Power
Both specifications are powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine, which generates 148kW and 441Nm.
The Elite trim does not change any power figures, but offers permanent all-wheel-drive as opposed to the front-wheel-drive only Executive.
Both vehicles are fitted with an 8-speed shift-by-wire transmission, with official fuel consumption and acceleration figures yet to be revealed.
Price
The South African pricing for the new Hyundai Santa Fe is as follows:

- Hyundai Sante Fe R2.2 Elite 8sp DCT AWD – R869,500
