Good news for Isuzu buyers in South Africa

Isuzu Motors South Africa has extended the standard service plan on all its new vehicles in South Africa.

The Japanese carmaker’s local division announced that it has increased the service plan on all of its Model Year 2026 D-Max bakkies and Mu-X SUVs.

The service plan has been increased from five to six years, while retaining the 90,000km distance limit.

This change is now in effect on all MY26 vehicles sold from 1 May 2026, giving customers an additional year of service plan coverage at no extra cost.

The benefit will also apply to future model years of both vehicle ranges, according to the automaker.

“At Isuzu, we understand that customers are looking for more than just a dependable vehicle; they are seeking confidence, convenience and long-term support,” said Chris Jonk, After Sales Executive at Isuzu Motors South Africa.

“By extending our Service Plan to six years, we are demonstrating our confidence in the quality, durability and reliability that Isuzu vehicles are known for.”

Isuzu noted that the additional year of coverage is particularly valuable for customers with a lower annual mileage, allowing them to maximise the benefits of their service plan over a longer period while enjoying greater certainty around motoring costs.

“The revised Service Plan further strengthens Isuzu’s position in South Africa’s highly competitive bakkie and SUV market, aligning the brand with evolving customer expectations while reinforcing its promise of dependable performance, reliability and ownership support,” said the company.

A busy year for Isuzu

The extension of the brand’s standard service plans comes after Isuzu launched the updated Mu-X and D-Max in South Africa.

In May 2026, the carmaker introduced the new Mu-X Adventure SUV series, comprising six derivatives with prices ranging from R752,300 to R1,026,800.

It is available with either a 1.9-litre turbocharged diesel engine with 110kW and 350Nm, or a larger 3.0-litre block with 140kW and 450Nm.

Buyers also have a choice of a rear-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive setup with improved suspension, and all six models are equipped with a six-speed automatic gearbox.

The update added new features across the range, such as headlamp welcome lights, a hands-free tailgate, ambient lighting, a 9-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch driver display, and a 360-degree camera system.

One month later, Isuzu launched the new D-Max bakkie range, featuring single, extended, and double cab body types with prices ranging from R433,860 to R1,211,910.

Like the Mu-X, the new pickup is sold with either the 1.9-litre or 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine.

The revised line-up now starts with the Low Rider trim level, which is followed by the L, LS, LSE, V-Cross and the halo model AT35.
