Toyota unveils Aygo X concept car – Photos

Toyota has unveiled an Aygo X Prologue concept vehicle, which the company said is a “new vision for the A-segment” in the market.

The concept car is based on the standard Toyota Aygo, and embodies “fun and playfulness” and a “pinch of hot spice”.

Toyota is targeting style-conscious buyers with the Aygo concept, and the vehicle has been designed to stand out thanks to its larger wheels, edgier design, and improved ground clearance.

“Whether from front, rear, or side, the mischievousness of Aygo X Prologue stands out,” said Toyota.

Along with the modern design, Toyota has included a bi-tone colour profile on the car – with red and black selected for the first design renders.

“A new wedged roofline also increases the dynamic feeling for a more aggressive sporty image. While at the front, high-tech lamps hug the upper hood to form a wing-like shape.”

An integrated roof rack has also been included in the design, along with a rear skid plate that houses a bicycle-holder mount and an “action camera” in the door mirrors to capture “moments of exploration”.

Toyota said this is part of its aim to offer a car that allows drivers to escape the everyday and turn it into an adventure.

As the Prologue is a concept vehicle, however, no detailed model information is available – including engine options, launch window, or pricing.
