
Toyota recently updated the Hilux for the 2023 fiscal year, bringing with it an expanded list of standard features for various models across the range.
The Hilux is the best-selling vehicle in the country, and is comprised of 39 different units spread out across multiple trim levels and single, Xtra, and double cab body types.
The mid-range entry in the bakkie family is the Raider, which has a starting price of R584,600 for the entry-level double cab.

What you get
The base model 2.4GD-6 double cab is offered with a 2.4-litre turbocharged diesel powerplant, which has an output of 110kW and 400Nm.
It is rear-wheel drive and is fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox, though a six-speed automatic version can be had for an additional R18,500. A four-wheel drive configuration, on the other hand, raises the price by R90,200.
Regardless of the version selected, the bakkie includes a rear differential lock and 17-inch alloy wheels.
The 2.4GD-6 units are also certified to tow 2,750kg, can store up to 865kg in the rear tray, and has a wheelbase measuring 3,085mm.
Furthermore, it can wade through 700mm of water, and has a ground clearance of 286mm.
As for its list of features, this particular Hilux is fitted with automatic headlights, LED foglamps, fabric upholstery, cruise control, manual air conditioning, a multifunction steering wheel, four speakers, a 12 volt socket, USB port, Bluetooth, and an 8-inch infotainment screen with support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Toyota Connect.
It is also equipped with front and rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, a limited slip differential, hill climb and descent control, ABS trailer sway control, traction control, vehicle stability control, and seven airbags.
The Toyota Hilux Raider comes with a 3-year/100,000km warranty and a 9-service/90,000km service plan.
