New LDV D90 arrives in South Africa – Pricing and features

LDV South Africa has announced the arrival of its first shipment of the new D90.

The arrival of the 4×4 SUV marks a new chapter for the Chinese brand, both locally and in South Africa’s neighbouring markets.

As LDV continues to expand across Southern Africa, its dealerships nationwide will soon be stocking the Adventure SUV at a price of R899,900.

This includes a 5-year/200,000km warranty and a 5-year/100,000km service plan.

“The LDV D90 is here, and it’s raising the bar with power, beauty, and luxury,” said Neil Barker, COO of LDV South Africa.

“South Africa is in for a shake-up with this exciting drive.”

The LDV D90 will be offered in only one specification, the Flagship, which LDV claims is a fully-loaded offering built for versatility and engineered with the modern family in mind.

The SUV is also set to be joined by LDV’s all-new Terron 9 doube-cab bakkie.

Performance

The D90 is fitted with a 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel engine, which LDV says delivers strength, efficiency, and comfort in equal measure.

Able to produce 160kW and 500Nm, the LDV’s motor is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox driving all four wheels, and allowing the SUV to reach its 175km/h top speed.

The D90 consumes diesel at a rate of 9.1l/100km, meaning its 75-litre tank will offer drivers a range of approximately 824km.

Three independent differential locks, big 20-inch wheels, and a 220mm ground clearance underline its 4×4 moniker.

Features

The seven-seater SUV measures 5,046mm long, 2,016mm wide, and 1,876mm high, with a 2,950mm wheelbase, a large cabin, and several comfort and safety features.

Three rows of seating, all wrapped in leather, can be found in the D90, with two 8-way electric, heated, massaging seats in the front.

The cabin features ambient lighting, a 12.3-inch infotainment system with smartphone integration, which includes both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto linked to a 12-speaker JBL sound system.

Further conveniences include a 220V power socket, dual wireless charging pads, and even a large panoramic sunroof.

In terms of safety, the D90 is fitted with six airbags, an integrated dash camera, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and electronic stability control. A 360-degree camera also guarantees ease-of-parking.

Externally, the D90 Flagship is fitted with LDV’s Black Package, which features darkened door handles, side mirrors, window trims, roof spoiler, rails, and wheel-arch mouldings.
