New Audi Q3 goes on sale in South Africa – Pricing and features
Audi has officially launched the third-generation Q3 in South Africa.
Available in both SUV and Sportback body styles, the new Q3 is set to compete in the country’s compact luxury segment.
“The all-new Audi Q3 ushers in a new era of Q while bringing technologies previously reserved for larger Audi models to one of the brand’s most successful model families,” said the company.
Prices for the Q3 start at R814,200 for the SUV, and R849,200 for the Sportback.
Engines
Both body types are available with one of two engines, starting with a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol (TFSI) option good for 110kW and 250Nm.
Paired with a six-speed dual-clutch “S Tronic” automatic gearbox, the TFSI units achieve an average fuel consumption of 7.3l/100km.
This gives the Audi a range of approximately 795km on its 58-litre tank.
It can also accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 9.3 seconds, and reach a top speed of 207km/h.
Alternatively, buyers can opt for the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel (TDI) units, which have the same power output of 110kW, but a higher torque stat of 360Nm.
The switch to diesel translates to a better economy stat, as the TDI models consume roughly 6.4l/100km.
This lets the TDI travel 906km, despite having an identical tank size.
Audi noted that the new Q3 features progressive steering, and that upgraded suspension with damper control is available as an optional extra, leading to improved comfort and agility.
Features

The latest iteration of the Q3 has been redesigned with stronger proportions, sharper surfaces and a more assertive stance.
“Viewed from the side, a distinctive horizontal shoulder line running between the front and rear lights creates a striking interplay between light and shadow, visually dividing the vehicle into upper and lower sections,” said the company.
“Combined with pronounced wheel arches and strong surfaces, the design further reinforces the Q3’s SUV character.”
Notably, the new Q3 is the first model in its segment to offer both digital Matrix LED headlights and digital OLED taillights.
The Matrix headlights are comprised of micro LEDs synced with the car’s driver assistance systems to improve visibility, safety, and driver confidence in challenging conditions.
At the back, the optional OLED tail lamps are complemented by a continuous LED light strip and an illuminated Audi Rings logo.
New colour options include Sage Green metallic, and Madeira Brown Polar Matte.
There are three standard wheel designs across the range, varying from 18 to 19 inches in size, depending on the derivative.
However, there are also six optional wheel designs that go up to 20 inches in diameter, allowing for greater customisation.
Inside, the cabin features a wide dashboard with a curved panoramic display (Audi Virtual Cockpit) for the driver and infotainment systems.
The steering wheel controls have been reworked to free up additional storage space in the centre console, and the cabin uses soft-touch materials and fabric upholstery made from 100% recycled polyester.
The boot can take 488 litres of luggage, which can be expanded to 575 litres by sliding the rear seats forward.
If the seats are folded, the capacity increases to 1,386 litres on the SUV, and 1,289 on the Sportback.
Other standard equipment on the Audi includes an electric tailgate, lane-departure warning, seven airbags, front and rear parking sensors, automatic air conditioning, ambient lighting, and MMI navigation with Audi connect services.
One step up from the base model is the Advanced trim, which adds a panoramic sunroof, heated front sport seats with four-way lumbar support, three-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, adaptive cruise control, and intelligent park assist with a reverse camera and reverse assistant.
Next is the S Line, which features exclusive styling cues such as body-coloured lower exterior detailing, 19-inch five-arm Platinum Grey alloy wheels, and a flattened multifunction twin-spoke leather sport steering wheel.
Last but not least is the S Line Black, which comes with 19-inch Audi Sport twin-spoke peak Black Metallic alloy wheels and a Black Optics package that includes black mirror housings, black roof rails, black exterior detailing, black window surrounds and Audi rings finished in Anthracite Grey.
Optional extras include a head-up display with a SONOS 12-speaker stereo, and 30-colour customizable ambient lighting.
