New Chinese bakkie launched in South Africa – Pricing and features

Chinese bakkie builder LDV has announced the arrival of the T60 Utility Single Cab in South Africa, marking the expansion of its local T60 range.

Single-cab bakkies continue to play a crucial role in the South African economy, enabling small business owners and the agriculture, construction, mining, and various trade industries, as well as municipal and government fleets.

According to the carmaker, single-cab demand in South Africa has endured, and these vehicles remain consistent performers in the local automotive market, prompting it to introduce its own single-cab offering.

The T60 Utility Single Cab entered the local market as a capable and rugged option featuring some modern comforts, advanced technology and enhanced safety.

“With the launch of the T60 Utility Single Cab, we’re strengthening our commitment to South Africa’s commercial vehicle market by delivering a dependable workhorse that combines capability, practicality and value for business owners and fleet operators alike,” said Gerhard Moolman, LDV South Africa CEO.

Upon arrival, the entry-level workhorse bakkie became one of South Africa’s most affordable single-cab offerings, with a price tag starting from R299,900.

“The introduction of the T60 Utility Single Cab marks another important milestone in our South African journey, reinforcing our focus on delivering hardworking commercial and lifestyle vehicles designed to meet the needs of our growing customer base,” Moolman added.
