New Mazda CX-5 in South Africa – Pricing revealed

Mazda has finally revealed the pricing for the highly anticipated new CX-5 in South Africa.

Now in its third generation, the CX-5 will be offered in four specifications in our market, including a new Homura flagship derivative.

Prices for the new CX-5 start at R578,350, making it the brand’s penultimate SUV behind the R790,200 CX-60.

Engine

All four versions of the CX-5 are equipped with a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 132kW and 240Nm.

Similarly, the entire range is exclusively fitted with a six-speed automatic gearbox. The main difference between the four options is that half are front-wheel-drive (FWD) while the other half are all-wheel-drive (AWD).

The Active and Dynamic trim levels are FWD, while the higher-tier Individual and Homura are AWD. Fuel consumption works out to roughly 7.6l/100km.

Equipment on the Japanese SUV starts with automatic LED headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry and start, a leather multifunction steering wheel, cloth upholstery, a 10-inch digital driver display, and a 12.9-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety and assistance functions include ABS, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind spot detection, front and rear parking sensors, and a reversing camera.

The higher trim levels will then add features like leather upholstery, an electric tailgate, a Bose stereo, larger 19-inch alloys, a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree camera system.
